Notes of Healing: The Transformative Role of Music in Grief and Memory  May 10th, 2025 | 1:00-2:30 pm (MST) | In-Person

Through music and song, we express our need to remember and honor loved ones. Join us as we explore the transformational nature of music in grief. El Ndoye, musician and community leader, will facilitate an afternoon where we learn about the healing role of music and listen to one another’s experiences.  

Participants are encouraged to bring a musical instrument to this session, but this gathering is for everyone—musicians and those who do not consider themselves to be musical.

Our Facilitator

El Ndoye

Elijah Ndoye Founder of The Forgotten Children | Passionate Community Musician

Elijah Ndoye (Elijah) was born and raised in Senegal, West Africa. Back in 1995, he relocated to the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a degree in Operations Management. He has served as a volunteer at Casas De Los Ninos, a not-for-profit shelter for children in abusive households. He also volunteered at Big Brothers and Sisters. He is very active in his community and currently has affiliations with the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce as Past Chairman.  In 2010 El created The Forgotten Children, a non-profit geared towards helping the street children in Senegal by achieving goals of self-sufficiency. El has more than 20 years of banking experience in the local Tucson area. He is a University of Arizona Alumni and a Wildcat through and through. 

Elijah is passionate about music and performs the kora at local events around Tucson and surrounding areas. He aims to bring people together through community and spirituality by sharing stories and connecting them to music.
