Grief: The Mind/Body Connection Thursday, March 21st, 2024 | 5:00-6:00 pm (MST)
In this presentation, we will explore the ways that grief physically affects bereaved individuals and then review the influence of grief on morbidity and mortality. During the session, we will look at the newest research on brain science reviewing the ways a loss impacts brain processes. In the conclusion of the program, consideration is given to the ways that bereaved individuals can be assisted in achieving resilience.
Dr. Kenneth J. Doka
Dr. Kenneth J. Doka is a Professor Emeritus at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle and Senior Vice-President for Grief Programs for the Hospice Foundation of America. He is a prolific author and has keynoted conferences throughout North America as well as Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He participates in the annual Hospice Foundation of America Teleconference and has appeared on CNN and Nightline. Dr. Doka has served in leadership roles in and received numerous awards from national and international organizations in the fields of thanatology, bereavement, and hospice. Please see Kenneth J.
